Hibiscus Tea: A Bright, Caffeine-Free Herbal Cup

Hibiscus tea is brewed from the deep crimson calyces of the hibiscus flower. It pours a striking ruby red and has a pleasantly tart, berry-like flavour that makes it a firm favourite for iced tea.

Because hibiscus is naturally caffeine-free, it can be enjoyed at any hour. For the best cup, steep dried hibiscus in freshly boiled water for 5–7 minutes, then sweeten lightly or add a slice of lemon. It is equally delicious chilled over ice with mint.

Herbal teas like hibiscus are everyday drinks, not medicines. If you are pregnant, on medication, or managing a health condition, check with your doctor before adding new herbal teas to your routine.
